KIS / PRIVACY

Private by default.
Always.

Our privacy policy is intentionally simple: your vault belongs to you, and KIS is designed to keep it that way.

Effective date: September 17, 2026

01

The short version

KIS is built to keep your secrets on your device. We do not sell, rent, or collect your passwords, vault contents, or personal identity.

02

Information stored on your device

Your vault entries, private notes, recovery codes, preferences, and encrypted backups are stored locally on your Android device. KIS uses Android security features and AES-256 encryption to protect this information.

03

Information we collect

The KIS app does not require an account and does not send vault data to our servers. The website may receive basic, aggregated traffic information through hosting analytics so we can understand general usage and improve the site. This information is not used to identify you personally.

04

Permissions

KIS requests only the permissions needed for features you choose to use, such as saving or importing an encrypted backup file. We do not use permissions to access unrelated files, contacts, messages, or browsing history.

05

Third-party services

Links to APKPure, Uptodown, or other third-party sites are provided for convenience. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, so review those policies before downloading from them.

06

Backups and deletion

You control your vault and encrypted backup files. Delete a vault or backup from your device whenever you choose. Because KIS does not keep a server-side copy of your vault, we cannot recover a deleted vault or forgotten master password.

07

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when KIS changes or when privacy requirements evolve. The latest version will always be published on this page with its effective date.
